Millennials, also known as Generation Y, are classified as the generation born between 1982 and 2004. I will be the first to admit that many of us who have children that fall within this demographic were certain that because our kids preferred to text rather than converse, even within the same house sometimes, they would be grow up to be socially inept. I now admit that as counter-intuitive as it sounds, the exact opposite seems to have occurred. At least in the workplace. While the Gen X workers of the previous generation valued things like privacy, corner offices, and formality in the workplace, Millennials are drawn to spaces that foster collaborative creativity, openness, and teamwork.
